A Breakthrough!

I finally figured out a story problem that’s been holding up progress on my WIP. So I’m feeling like these spring flowers I spotted breaking through the dirt on a frigid 25-degree morning.

Sooo, how about it y'all? Any writing breakthrough's lately?

Only writing breakthrough was after about three weeks of procrastination, I finally wrote a rough draft of my query letter in two hours spread out over two days.

I write Role Playing Games as a sort of passive hobby (in addition to working on fiction), and I recently revamped an idea completely, changing the narrative from 3rd person to 1st person. If you know anything about RPGs, you know that's pretty rare. So far people seem to like it. :)

this week I've had so much school work that I haven't gotten much writing done. I did try a poem last night and got some words down but it doesn't flow.

@G - I procrastinate a lot too, it's almost like I'm afraid of my WIP sometimes. Good luck w/that query!

@Tom - When I have trouble figuring out my heroines, I'll write a scene or two in 1st person POV, then convert it back to 3rd. So far, it's always worked!

@Charles Gramlich - Hopefully, you can catch up w/your writing over spring break!

Lovely photo. Kind of wonderful seeing those shoots a few inches from snow on the ground.

The only breakthrough I've had recently is the realization that trying to write to demand (what I 'ought' to be writing to further my 'career') results in a total writing block for me. So I'm back to writing exactly what I want to - which means getting that memoir submission-ready and making headway with the mainstream.

I sent out a story, so I now have five stories in circulation. Now I can focus on my next novel for a while.
